Emotional Intelligence

Studying the Hindu faith, Buddhism, Christianity, Psychology studies and various cultures is a profound education in life experience. When you grow up an empath and do not know, you can experience a series of unknown challenges in life. Your will to survive must exceed your will to succumb to life’s experiences. Children at an early age are influenced by the things they see, feel, and experience. Growing up an African American woman, I saw many things. There was so much abuse in the household, that I grew up thinking this was normal for everyone.
Always having been intuitive and perceptive, I was drawn to the mental health field. I would watch from an early age many dysfunctional patterns of behavior. I discovered, family cycles must be stopped, if a person wants to live a normal life. The environment plays a part in your mindset. Sometimes we must change our environment and circle of influence, to change the way we see things.
If unaware, an empath that is both emotionally and physically sensitive, you must analyze yourself and know what you normally think about and how you normally feel. “One of the important normal functions of the higher mental processes is the solution of emotional problems”. (Dollard and Miller, 1950). The problem with this is, many people did not start understanding empathic abilities, until the last ten years. So, life experiences will eventually give you an in depth understanding in life, if you have a desire to stop being influenced by others.
We are spiritual or energy beings, capable or perceiving things in any given place. The ability to perceive is to feel things with our senses. Your senses are the ability to touch, taste, smell, see or hear. The intuition is also considered to be a perception. It has been said by many theorists that the intuition is not a sense, but that has been argued over time. It is in fact one of our perceptions.
Environmental stimulus can stimulate similar experiences, if not self-aware. There are many surrounding factors that are stimulus triggers. Smells, sounds, words, voices and texture are some of the things that can potentially stimulate earlier experiences. Not everyone understands or wants to understand, but for those who research for answers, technology and the internet has placed us at an advantage to understand.
Previously wanting to understand PTSD, I embarked upon a journey to research and observe human behavior in differing places. It is amazing how the things we once did not give thought, suddenly start to make sense. Extrasensory perceptions are the main cause for many conflicts in understanding of self and empathic sensitivities. You do not have to be an empath to be capable of perceiving at higher levels. Educating oneself can increase our understanding.
The theory by Schachter and Singer states that, a person is stimulated by two factors, physiological arousal and cognitive label. “The two-factor theory of emotion, states that emotion is based on two factors: physiological arousal and cognitive label. ... According to the theory, when an emotion is felt, a physiological arousal occurs, and the person uses the immediate environment to search for emotional cues to label the physiological arousal”.
We are each given senses. It is amazing how working in the healthcare field and mental health for twenty years, I have not discovered this scientific knowledge sooner. Always having had the ability to smell sickness in others, read macular facial expressions and take note of everything in the environment, it did not provoke me to search for answers, until much later in life.
Bem’s Theory is, “Self-perception theory is counterintuitive. Common knowledge would have us assume that a person’s personality and attitudes drive their actions; however, self-perception theory shows that this is not always the case. In simple terms, it illustrates that “we are what we do." According to self-perception theory, we interpret our own actions the way we interpret others’ actions, and our actions are often socially influenced and not produced out of our own free will, as we might expect”.
We must want to improve upon ourselves and change our lives for the better, to arrive at a place of wisdom and overcome stigmas that would like for us to believe that this is a negative characteristic or trait in the DNA. DNA can be changed with knowledge, scientific studies and understanding of the individual themselves. On a cellular level the mindset and behavior are not destined for defeat. If it is possible on a cellular level to have certain characteristics, it would also be possible to feed those characteristics knowledge and change their operation.
Learn to analyze yourself, your emotions and know your normal pattern of thinking. Once you know who you are, it would be impossible to allow someone to tell you that your patterns of thinking are anything but logical. If a soldier is in the jungle and cannot see his target, his other senses would become stronger to perceive his target. That is the beginning of understanding empathic abilities, the strength of the mind and intuition.

A Positive Mindset

The world we live in is so full of negativity. How do you remain positive despite your circumstances? We are spiritual beings living a metaphysical existence. Have you ever taken the time to wonder why you feel a person’s vibe or start thinking out of the ordinary?
We are spiritual beings, capable or perceiving things in any given place. The ability to perceive is to feel things with our senses. Your senses are the ability to touch, taste, smell, see or hear. The intuition is also considered to be a perception. It has been said by many theorists that the intuition is not a sense, but that has been argued over time. It is in fact one of our perceptions.

When you get up each morning, take a few minutes to notice how you feel. You will basically be analyzing yourself. Once you do this on a consistent basis, be aware of how you feel in differing environments.
Notice how you feel in the morning.
Take note of how you feel.
Analyze yourself in various places.
Take notice of how you think.
When you develop the habit of monitoring your thoughts and what you feel, you can then move on to the next phase.
What is your emotional state?
Do you ever find yourself feeling out of the ordinary?
The way we think emits a certain frequency. Thoughts are energy. If you have encountered someone that was irate, take notes in mind, of how you felt in their presence.
There is a quote that says, "Never trust an angry man because he is solely led by his emotions". When you encounter someone in this state of mind, be mindful not to look them in the eye. You take on the mindset or the state of the person. It may sound unusual, but true.

The above mentioned things sound very simple, however it is a little more complex than it sounds. You must develop this practice as a habit. This keeps you in a peaceful state of mind. We as human beings are ever learning, but forget to put into practice the things we learn.
The emotions and the way you feel are somewhat different. Your emotional state is similar to taking on another person emotional baggage. Observe the way you feel emotionally:
What is your state of mind? (Happy, Sad, Depressed, etc.)Once you find this, go to a place you have been at some point in time that makes you happy. Sounds unusual, but It Works!
Example: You have a loved one to pass away. You miss their presence. You feel sad. Take this time to go into your mind and recall a time they made you laugh or a time of success. Not saying that it will take away from your loss. It will allow you to remember the good. It lifts your spirit and frees your body from the emotional stress.

The body responds to your mindset. A healthy mind, produces a healthy body. The practice of mind, body and soul mindfulness is the precursor to better relationships. If you can keep your emotions under control, you can better focus on your work, education and relationships. Being clearly in the present.

When noticing your emotions varying, Take Deep Breaths and free yourself of negative emotional energy. This is the same process for feeling sudden pains. The perpetual transmutation of energy is the ongoing transfer of thoughts. Thoughts are energy.

Define simple things so you understand. Life is quite simple. It all in how you see it.
Be Positive. A healthy Mind is a Healthy Body.

Resilience

I grew up in a somewhat dysfunctional environment. My grandmother read me the bible and indoctrinated me at an early age. I watched her from 5, suffer with nervous breakdowns. She and I were very close. My grandfather would emotionally and sometimes physically abuse her.
My grandfather would beat me for sport and force me to watch him take baths. I did poorly in school, because I was afraid of what I would face, when I got home. Every-day was a struggle. He might beat me seven days a week. He also taught me about fixing things around the house, cutting grass and working on cars. He wasn't all bad, but the bad things shaped my mind. He told me he was sorry, before he took his last breath.

When I was going through junior high, I became rebellious. I hung out with the lose girls and wanted to be like the girls, that did not have guidance at home. My mom was strict and very controlling. She gave me little-freedom, but at least I did not get pregnant. That was her main concern.
I went through high school and experienced bullying regularly. I did the minimum in high school and graduated. I did not consider college, because I did not think I was good enough. My grandmother made sure I had a car and dressed well. That made some of the other girls jealous. Class was never a problem for me.

I worked for 20 years in Mental Health and Healthcare.I wanted to understand the mind, because my grandmother suffered, throughout my life. I dated thugs and allowed them to minimize my self-esteem, because that is what I thought love was. We do what we think is right.
I married a guy, despite my grand-mothers advice. She always had the gift of discernment. She was always right. The marriage ended badly. Every-time I tried to improve myself or go to college, he discouraged me. I was working on becoming a Police officer, but had to put the relationship behind me. We can be guilty by association and I wanted a better life.

I got a divorce and stopped hanging out in bad company. My mind changed. It was like I became another person. I sought God and positivism. These things started to change me. I would do unto others, as I would have them do to me. I started practicing what I would preach. I was walking the walk.

The more I would grow, I still did not understand myself completely. I worked at the Dept of Veterans Affairs. I would listen to the things people told me and uplift them. My consciousness continued to increase. I wanted to stop people’s pain and it helped to heal mine too. I became very zealous. I would advocate for patients, when no one else would listen. Abused people abuse people. I went from having a desire for nursing, to wanting to become a Psychologist to help people. I did not have all the answers or know it all. I was growing as a woman of God.

I had a few problems, because I did not understand emotional intelligence at the time. I asked myself were my intentions good. They were. I just had to grow. That experience made me leave nursing and I started political advocacy, with the Obama Administration. The LIGHT CAME ON!
Speaking out for the rights of others showed me what I could do. To whom much is given much is required. People would listen to me. I thought I was stupid my entire life, just to realize, my tests became my Testimony.

My activism did not land me a position. I then sought to travel to become more self-aware, life coach and minister. I spent time at a ministry in Georgia. I slept outside the Atlanta Women's Mission, after my things were stolen at the previous homeless shelter. They stole everything, but I got my grandmothers Bible back.

For those that listened, I shared knowledge and encouraged them. Homeless wasn't hopelessness. I got invited to a ministry, Seven Bridges to Recovery.  I got the chance to get close to God. I met a Pastor, who was a Doctor. She told me to continue to document all my experiences, for when I get my PsyD. We meet people for a reason.

I left Georgia and went to NYC. I had $30 and a bus ticket and knew no one. God brought someone to help me, and I got a place to live and got on my feet. I stayed there for 1 year. I got a chance to help a few Vietnam Veterans and uplift the ones that wanted to be better.
I then went to LA. I spent time speaking and coaching people on Skid Row or Tent City. They were friendly and not like I was told people were down there. Some wanted to help themselves but didn't know how.

I studied Mind-Valley, Dianetic's, Buddhism and The Chakras to become a better me. When I took the HDA course in Dianetics, my mind became CLEAR. Everything my grandmother was teaching me, was to be Aware. The Bible saved my life. The various platforms of knowledge gave me understanding and I gained Wisdom from my bad experiences.
I then went to San Diego and San Francisco. I observed, documented and wrote a few books while there. I would share with those who would listen, but some were happy where they were in life. I learned to stop allowing anyone to suppress me or tell me what was not possible. I became WHOLE, while being Single.

I next went to Utah to coach and minister to Mormon women. Utah had the highest rate of Opioid addiction, teenage suicide and mental health issues. I got the chance to speak to many women. I knew it was time to leave, because, I was not the conformist type. We each have Constitutional Rights. I have a Mind of my Own.

I headed to DC. I love to speak, I have GOALS and my Ambition is High! I don't know what the Lord has planned, but I know what I want! My grandmother graduated with God. Now I must be the BEST woman I can be, or She may not be happy about that! She is my Motivation. I watched her for Forty Years Suffer. Everything I do will be in Her Name.

The Way To Happiness

                                      Words Have Meaning
                                    Look Beyond The Obvious

https://myuniversallove.com/
https://www.linkedin.com/in/thenewme/

First, for the 45 years I have been in the world, I have developed a mindset of growth. As we evolve we should learn we no longer have to settle. Mindset is everything! I am an African American Woman. Life has given me my own truth. Seeing now the normal ideals of my family, was not normal for me. African Americans were indoctrinated with a certain mindset many years ago. We must unlearn the stigmas and things of our Ancestors.

Youth

At an early age, our minds are shaped by the things we see others do and say. Teach children to have a growth mindset! I am mindful of what I say to children. Putting a negative thought in their mind, molds the way they see themselves. Personally, I only leave a positive thought. We all should. It should be expected that we lead younger persons by example. After-all, these are our future leaders of America. Be a good role model for our youth to see. Teach them to think positive about themselves.

Living

We each choose the things we experience. As hard as it sounds to believe. Each of us have the ability to change the direction life is taking us. Treating others as we want to be treated is something I believe we could all benefit from. We are each born free and equal. Human Rights is a fundamental right we as Americans have. Sometimes we get caught up in the day to day things that we forget this simple liberty we have been born with. The ability to express ourselves from religious convictions, is a Human Right! Telling the truth about things we experience is a freedom we are born with. Refuse to believe everything you hear. Search for your truth.

Next, Human Beings are the most fascinating beings in the world. We have the ability to bounce back from life’s trials and become a better person. We learn to be more resilient and make better decisions that can help us have a better future. It is in having been awakened to the many truth’s in life, that my mind evolved to higher levels of understanding. Winning in life is just the beginning of many great things to come.

Now, ten years ago my mind changed. People have awakened to the world around them. I sought truth. Ultimately, I cultivated my mind. What truth have you searched for? Living in mediocrity is no longer good enough. I am striving to become more educated and obtain knowledge. Things we face in life can make us better or bitter. Understanding in life is a most valuable asset. Seek to have a mindset of growth.

I have traveled for five years. I was learning to practice for my future career. In the future, I will complete my PsyD. It was in experiencing things at an early age an unlearning negative behavior; I discovered who I am in God. Our mindset can be changed. Human Beings are born consciously aware. Many times we believe what is said about us and don”t search for the answers ourselves. As you learn, grow and overcome obstacles in life, you will see what you are capable of accomplishing.

I have a love for politics after overcoming many challenges. Find your own unique voice and walk in your truth. This will be the most enlightening experience in this world. Stop listening to those who limit your possibilities in life. You will discover the only limitations you have in life, are the ones you hide in your mind. Learn the sound of your own voice. That’s the voice you will be lead by. Have the mindset of a leader.

Refuse to Accept No In LIFE! Look beyond what your eyes see.

Lastly, there is more to life than meets the Eye!
