Emotional Intelligence

Studying the Hindu faith, Buddhism, Christianity, Psychology studies and various cultures is a profound education in life experience. When you grow up an empath and do not know, you can experience a series of unknown challenges in life. Your will to survive must exceed your will to succumb to life’s experiences. Children at an early age are influenced by the things they see, feel, and experience. Growing up an African American woman, I saw many things. There was so much abuse in the household, that I grew up thinking this was normal for everyone.
Always having been intuitive and perceptive, I was drawn to the mental health field. I would watch from an early age many dysfunctional patterns of behavior. I discovered, family cycles must be stopped, if a person wants to live a normal life. The environment plays a part in your mindset. Sometimes we must change our environment and circle of influence, to change the way we see things.
If unaware, an empath that is both emotionally and physically sensitive, you must analyze yourself and know what you normally think about and how you normally feel. “One of the important normal functions of the higher mental processes is the solution of emotional problems”. (Dollard and Miller, 1950). The problem with this is, many people did not start understanding empathic abilities, until the last ten years. So, life experiences will eventually give you an in depth understanding in life, if you have a desire to stop being influenced by others.
We are spiritual or energy beings, capable or perceiving things in any given place. The ability to perceive is to feel things with our senses. Your senses are the ability to touch, taste, smell, see or hear. The intuition is also considered to be a perception. It has been said by many theorists that the intuition is not a sense, but that has been argued over time. It is in fact one of our perceptions.
Environmental stimulus can stimulate similar experiences, if not self-aware. There are many surrounding factors that are stimulus triggers. Smells, sounds, words, voices and texture are some of the things that can potentially stimulate earlier experiences. Not everyone understands or wants to understand, but for those who research for answers, technology and the internet has placed us at an advantage to understand.
Previously wanting to understand PTSD, I embarked upon a journey to research and observe human behavior in differing places. It is amazing how the things we once did not give thought, suddenly start to make sense. Extrasensory perceptions are the main cause for many conflicts in understanding of self and empathic sensitivities. You do not have to be an empath to be capable of perceiving at higher levels. Educating oneself can increase our understanding.
The theory by Schachter and Singer states that, a person is stimulated by two factors, physiological arousal and cognitive label. “The two-factor theory of emotion, states that emotion is based on two factors: physiological arousal and cognitive label. ... According to the theory, when an emotion is felt, a physiological arousal occurs, and the person uses the immediate environment to search for emotional cues to label the physiological arousal”.
We are each given senses. It is amazing how working in the healthcare field and mental health for twenty years, I have not discovered this scientific knowledge sooner. Always having had the ability to smell sickness in others, read macular facial expressions and take note of everything in the environment, it did not provoke me to search for answers, until much later in life.
Bem’s Theory is, “Self-perception theory is counterintuitive. Common knowledge would have us assume that a person’s personality and attitudes drive their actions; however, self-perception theory shows that this is not always the case. In simple terms, it illustrates that “we are what we do." According to self-perception theory, we interpret our own actions the way we interpret others’ actions, and our actions are often socially influenced and not produced out of our own free will, as we might expect”.
We must want to improve upon ourselves and change our lives for the better, to arrive at a place of wisdom and overcome stigmas that would like for us to believe that this is a negative characteristic or trait in the DNA. DNA can be changed with knowledge, scientific studies and understanding of the individual themselves. On a cellular level the mindset and behavior are not destined for defeat. If it is possible on a cellular level to have certain characteristics, it would also be possible to feed those characteristics knowledge and change their operation.
Learn to analyze yourself, your emotions and know your normal pattern of thinking. Once you know who you are, it would be impossible to allow someone to tell you that your patterns of thinking are anything but logical. If a soldier is in the jungle and cannot see his target, his other senses would become stronger to perceive his target. That is the beginning of understanding empathic abilities, the strength of the mind and intuition.

A Positive Mindset

The world we live in is so full of negativity. How do you remain positive despite your circumstances? We are spiritual beings living a metaphysical existence. Have you ever taken the time to wonder why you feel a person’s vibe or start thinking out of the ordinary?
We are spiritual beings, capable or perceiving things in any given place. The ability to perceive is to feel things with our senses. Your senses are the ability to touch, taste, smell, see or hear. The intuition is also considered to be a perception. It has been said by many theorists that the intuition is not a sense, but that has been argued over time. It is in fact one of our perceptions.

When you get up each morning, take a few minutes to notice how you feel. You will basically be analyzing yourself. Once you do this on a consistent basis, be aware of how you feel in differing environments.
Notice how you feel in the morning.
Take note of how you feel.
Analyze yourself in various places.
Take notice of how you think.
When you develop the habit of monitoring your thoughts and what you feel, you can then move on to the next phase.
What is your emotional state?
Do you ever find yourself feeling out of the ordinary?
The way we think emits a certain frequency. Thoughts are energy. If you have encountered someone that was irate, take notes in mind, of how you felt in their presence.
There is a quote that says, "Never trust an angry man because he is solely led by his emotions". When you encounter someone in this state of mind, be mindful not to look them in the eye. You take on the mindset or the state of the person. It may sound unusual, but true.

The above mentioned things sound very simple, however it is a little more complex than it sounds. You must develop this practice as a habit. This keeps you in a peaceful state of mind. We as human beings are ever learning, but forget to put into practice the things we learn.
The emotions and the way you feel are somewhat different. Your emotional state is similar to taking on another person emotional baggage. Observe the way you feel emotionally:
What is your state of mind? (Happy, Sad, Depressed, etc.)Once you find this, go to a place you have been at some point in time that makes you happy. Sounds unusual, but It Works!
Example: You have a loved one to pass away. You miss their presence. You feel sad. Take this time to go into your mind and recall a time they made you laugh or a time of success. Not saying that it will take away from your loss. It will allow you to remember the good. It lifts your spirit and frees your body from the emotional stress.

The body responds to your mindset. A healthy mind, produces a healthy body. The practice of mind, body and soul mindfulness is the precursor to better relationships. If you can keep your emotions under control, you can better focus on your work, education and relationships. Being clearly in the present.

When noticing your emotions varying, Take Deep Breaths and free yourself of negative emotional energy. This is the same process for feeling sudden pains. The perpetual transmutation of energy is the ongoing transfer of thoughts. Thoughts are energy.

Define simple things so you understand. Life is quite simple. It all in how you see it.
Be Positive. A healthy Mind is a Healthy Body.

Behold I Send You Forth As Sheep

“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬
God is a Protector. He will protect you amongst the wolves. You are His sheep and when you follow the True Shepherd — He will lead and guide your footsteps. When you belong to Christ, you become His reflection and representation in the Earth. Choose to surrender your gifts, talents and abilities to God. Let His Light shine through you — even in dark places. Let His Light shine through you in everything that you say and do. Choose to let His Wisdom lead you. Choose to let His Wisdom guide you. Let His Wisdom flourish in everything that you say and do.
When God sends you out amongst the wolves, choose to exercise wisdom — His Wisdom. Let the Wisdom of God flow through you in business. Let His Wisdom flow through you on your job. Let His Wisdom flow through you when you’re negotiating contracts. Let His Wisdom flow through you in private and in public. Choose to use wisdom, discretion, discernment and grace in everything that you say and do. Choose to reflect the Heart and Character of Christ.
Matthew‬ ‭10:16‬ ‭AMPC‬‬ declares, “Behold, I am sending you out like sheep in the midst of wolves; be wary and wise as serpents, and be innocent (harmless, guileless, and without falsity) as doves.” ‭‭Let God lead you. Let God sharpen you. Let God lead your talent, skills and abilities in every area of your life.
Diligently study and sharpen your gifts. Let God mature your talents, gifts and abilities in the field that you’re called to. God has given you the ability to dominate but it’s up to you to execute. Exercise wisdom and diligence. Let God strengthen your gifts through your diligence.
Let His Peace keep you and protect you when chaos surrounds you. Let God lead you through corruption. Let God sharpen and develop your character. God is sending you forth as sheep — harmless, guileless and without falsity — but wise as serpents. Let God lead your thoughts, desires and actions. Choose to reflect Christ in private and in public. In business and at home. On stage and off stage. In front of cameras and behind the camera. Let God build and lead your character and develop your skill.
Matthew‬ ‭10:16‬ ‭declares‬‬, “Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves.” Be alert. Be strategic. Be thoughtful. Be aware of your surroundings but do not become a snake. Be wise about your next move. Be wise about the language that you use. Be wise about your environment but do not become like your surroundings.
God is sending you as light in darkness. Don’t become like the darkness. No matter the mountain(s) that you’re called to, choose to be wise and sharp in Government, Business, Education, Media, Creative Arts, Faith, and in your Family. Let God lead the work of your hands. Let God lead your heart. Don’t let the contaminates of the world, pollute your heart. “Stay alert. This is hazardous work I’m assigning you. You’re going to be like sheep running through a wolf pack, so don’t call attention to yourselves. Be as cunning as a snake, inoffensive as a dove.” Matthew‬ ‭10:16‬ ‭MSG‬‬
