Stop to think

During times where you may be prone to physical aggressiveness, MOVE! There have been many allegations within the media lately about athletes and violence. I am unsure if those accusations are true or not. I am not here to judge, only to help you. You must STOP to think in any case. How will your actions affect your career, family and YOU? Think about how your actions will contribute to your present and future.

First, walk away from anything that makes your adrenalin rush, in a negative way.

  • You should be able to feel the flutter of your heart, before you react. STOP TO THINK!
  • Focus on an image in the room, other than the object of anger.
  • Immediately, Quickly Walk Away from the person/object and speed up your blood-flow. (This increases endorphin's, that make you happy).
  • This is the proper reaction to a negative encounter!

Next, get to a quiet place and introspect on the situation itself.

  • Think about how you handled the situation.
  • Remember your reaction.
  • Apply this response, each time you are faced with negativity or stimulus.
  • Call a friend you can trust, to help you in times of uncertainty.

Once you have the chance to reflect on how the interaction made you feel, remember to respond and NOT REACT! Think about your wife, girlfriend, or family. When you realize you are in possession of your ability to control your mind and actions. You will begin to think more clearly. Never allow someone to control you, by way of manipulation.

It takes time to train your mind. I can tell you that it will be well worth the effort. This is a process that contributes to becoming "Your BEST YOU". Do not speak negative self talk, but encourage yourself. If you see that you are having a hard time, call someone you trust. It's better to speak to someone that has no personal opinion, to give you more positive feedback.

Take care of You, First! In taking
care of yourself, you take care of those you Love.
